3Gstore has been helping all kinds of customers with their mobile broadband needs for years. We've worked with everyone from big businesses to travelers to families in rural areas, and we understand that different users have different needs - including the RV community! Our participation on many RV forums and trips to RV conventions/shows has helped us learn all about what the RV community has to deal with on a daily basis. As a result we've helped thousands of RVers improve their existing cellular setups or make the right choices for a new mobile broadband solution.

Whether you're a part-timer or live on the road, want internet access just to check your email once a week or need to surf the web all day every day, know nothing about mobile broadband or just need to improve your existing equipment, 3Gstore can help!

We have the products you need at competitive pricing, but arguably the biggest advantage to shopping with the mobile broadband experts at 3Gstore is the unrivaled customer service and technical support we offer all our customers. So let's get started! Pick from one of the tabs above to see our suggested RV Solutions!

We combine our very popular indoor/portable "Booster Antenna" with a Verizon, Sprint, or Pay-As-You-Go (a good option for folks who only need occasional or backup internet access) USB modem to provide our 'Simple" solution. Wherever there is available cellular signal, this combination will provide internet access to one laptop or desktop computer running Windows or Mac OSX.

Advantages:

  • USB modem can work with desktop, laptop or even a cellular router.
  • Booster antenna helps improve cell signal for better performance.
  • Booster antenna is very compact - fits in laptop bag or briefcase - and doesn't require any installation (no holes to drill!).
  • 3ft cable to position Booster antenna where better signal is available.
  • Booster antenna comes with suction cups to mount to window.
  • Easily moves from tow vehicle to 5th wheel or travel trailer.
  • Great for over-the-road truckers, too.
  • Least expensive solution.
Drawbacks:
  • Only provides internet connection to the one computer it is attached to.
  • Short antenna cable.
Also consider:
  • Optional "clip kit" -- attaches antenna to laptop lid or vehicle's a/c vent
  • To share the internet connection with multiple computers/devices, add a router

This solution combines an "Omni RV Antenna with Spring Base" with a Verizon, Sprint, or Pay-As-You-Go (a good option for folks who only need occasional or backup internet access) USB modem and a Cradlepoint CTR350. The antenna mounted on ladder allows for better signal when hills or trees are a problem, and the CTR350 router allows multiple devices to access the internet all at the same time!

Advantages:

  • Better cellular signal than Booster Antenna when trees/hills around.
  • Router allows you to share the connection from ONE aircard/modem with MULTIPLE computers/devices via WiFi (plus connect a computer/device that doesn't have WiFi via the ethernet port!)
  • Router provides high security via hardware firewall.
  • Router often provides faster performance & more stable connection.
  • Router's WiFi range easily extends past entire length of 40ft RV's.
  • Gaming consoles/handhelds and even DVR's can connect too.
  • Moderate price of this solution makes it the most popular.
Drawbacks:
  • Antenna installation may require a hole drilled for cable to enter RV.
  • Antenna is not easily moved from tow vehicle to trailer or stick-built.
  • CTR350 only has one ethernet port and limited WiFi "G" wireless range.
Also consider:

For even better signal capture we add a powerful dual-band, direct-connect amplifier to our 'Good' solution and we utilize the more powerful and capable Cradlepoint CTR500.

Advantages:

  • 3-watt amp boosts cellular signal much more than antenna alone.
  • Router's WiFi range easily extends past entire length of 40ft RV's.
  • CTR500 has expresscard slot so it works with more devices.
  • CTR500 has LED lights to indicate cellular modem signal.
  • CTR500 can load-balance connectivity from two active modems.
  • CTR500 ships with both a/c and d/c adapters.
  • CTR500 has a jack for an optional external WiFi antenna.
Drawbacks:
  • Amp makes this a more expensive solution than most RVers will need
  • Amp requires power and is a little more difficult to install than just antenna.
  • CTR500 only has one ethernet port and limited WiFi "G" wireless range.
Also consider:

To boost the signal to more than one cellular device at the same time, we recommend the SoHo Kit for RV that amplifies cellular signal throughout living area of an RV using a wall-mounted high-gain dual band panel antenna. ALL of your cellular devices in the RV (cell phones and aircards) can benefit from the boosted signal without being physically connected to an antenna! The second part of our "best" solution pictured above, is the Cradlepoint MBR1000 cellular router that provides stronger WiFi range and additional ethernet ports.

Advantages:

  • Signal amplification to multiple cellular modems and phones simultaneously.
  • No physical/wired connection to cellular devices is needed.
  • With no physical connection, you are free to walk around with cellphone.
  • Panel antenna's beamwidth has great range and pushes signal outside of RV.
  • MBR1000 has LED lights that can indicate the cellular modem's signal.
  • MBR1000 has powerful WiFi "N" radio to improve WiFi range to/from router (meaning you can be further away from the router and still connect).
  • MBR1000 has 2 USB, 1 expresscard, 1 WAN and 4 LAN ports.
  • MBR1000 can load balance across 3 cellular and WAN (cable/dsl/satellite).
Drawbacks:
  • Requires 10+ feet physical separation between antennas. Works best in 30+ft RV. (see this diagram of sample installation)
  • Most complicated and time consuming installation of all solutions.
  • Most expensive solution.
Also consider:
  • In-Vehicle Repeater Kit is a lower-cost repeater that is easier to install and doesn't require the 10+ feet of separation (but not as powerful - devices need to be very close to internal antenna to benefit from boosted signal).
  • Pepwave Surf Mini allows you to receive campground WiFi (where available) and re-broadcast through your Cradlepoint router

The solutions described in these tabs are some of our most popular, but they are by no means the ONLY options available. Below is a list of more helpful resources for folks wanting to learn more about mobile broadband and other options:
