This PHS300 has the REVISION 2.0 hardware. This is the latest version that supports 3G AND 4G modems. Many other resellers are selling the 3G-ONLY version of the PHS300, which does not (and will never) support 4G modems!

This router ships with firmware version 2.5.2 installed. If you plan to use this router with any of the below devices, you will need to update the firmware before using the router (all other routers on the compatibility list will work with the pre-installed firmware):

The latest firmware version is included on CD and you can easily upgrade the firmware yourself; alternatively, 3Gstore can perform the upgrade for you before shipping your router for $15. To have 3Gstore update your firmware before shipping, select "upgrade to firmware 2.5.3" from the menu below.
Planning to use this router with a 4G modem? Additional upgrades and settings changes are necessary to use this router with your 4G modem. You can do these yourself with the provided instructions, or 3Gstore can upgrade the router for you before shipping. Once plugged into your data-ready cellular phone or USB EVDO device, the PHS automatically establishes a connection to your cellular providers data network. It works exactly the way your home router does with your DSL or Cable modem. Once plugged in, associate your PC with the PHS Personal Hotspot just like you connect to your home WiFi network or a Caf Hotspot, and youre instantly on the Internet. Enjoy the broadband speed built into your cellular phone or USB EVDO device, and use your laptop wherever you are.
