This router ships with firmware version 2.4.0 installed. For a full list of compatible devices, click here. If you plan to use this router with any of the below devices, you will need to update the firmware before using the router (all other routers on the compatibility list will work with the installed firmware):

The latest firmware version is included on CD and you can easily upgrade the firmware yourself; alternatively, 3Gstore can perform the upgrade for you before shipping your router for $15. Once plugged into your data-ready cellular phone or USB EVDO device, the PHS automatically establishes a connection to your cellular providers data network. It works exactly the way your home router does with your DSL or Cable modem. Once plugged in, associate your PC with the PHS Personal Hotspot just like you connect to your home WiFi network or a Caf Hotspot, and youre instantly on the Internet. Enjoy the broadband speed built into your cellular phone or USB EVDO device, and use your laptop wherever you are.

Plug-and-Surf
The PHS connects to your mobile phone with its built-in mini-USB cable or you can plug your USB EVDO device directly into it. If your phone has a custom connector, plug it directly into the PHSs USB Host port. Place the phone and PHS where coverage is best, and put your laptop wherever its most convenient to use.

The PHS has a built-in Li-Ion battery that provides up to 2 hours of WiFi time when a power outlet isnt available. When connected to external power, the Personal Hotspot keeps your mobile phone charged and recharges its own internal battery.
