This router uses Cradlepoint's legacy platform; their newer routers (the MBR1400 , MBR95 , CTR35 , CBR400 , CBR450 ) use the NetBSD platform. The NetBSD platform is easier to use, was created with 4G LTE/WiMAX in mind, and features improvements in modem reliability. The legacy routers will continue to be supported/updated for another year, but for long-term support you may want to consider one of the BSD routers. Read more: CradlePoint's New NetBSD Platform vs Legacy Platform .
If you plan to use this router with a 4G WiMAX or LTE modem, we strongly advise using a USB extension cable to reduce interference and improve performance. 3Gstore carries a 9'10" USB extension and a 3'4" USB extension for this purpose. It is a good idea to change the router's wireless network name and password so that nearby users can't use your connection without your knowledge. It is fairly easy to do, BUT for those who want a router already configured BEFORE we ship it, we can set up your router with the network name and password of your choice for $15:

With its three USB ports, expresscard and pcmcia slots, the MBR1200 officially supports more 3G and 4G modems than any other cellular router, and Cradlepoint stands alone as the manufacturer who adds support for the newest modems in the shortest amount of time.
The MBR1200 is the first cellular router to offer a built-in four-port ethernet switch that offers not just 10/100 speeds, but also 1000mbp/s LAN connectivity (a.k.a. "gigabit ethernet").

The device works great! It only took me about ten minutes to set up and get going. It handles three phones and an iPad with no problems. We even add a few computers and a printer occasioinaly, with no issues. We are satisfied with the product, and with the technical guidance we received before the purchase.

This is a replacement for an old Linksys, I would highly recommend this unit ease of set up and strong signal make it good for the fringe area I us it in.

We live in an area with very little cell phone signal and no DSL or cable internet. This router, combined with a roof-mounted antenna, amplifier, and repeater, has made our home wireless throughout and gives me trouble-free internet access. It is very intuitive and easy to use. Kudos to 3Gstore.com for setting us up with the right equipment to get the job done.

Very good product, the only lack is a WAN connection through Wifi
3Gstore Comments: You can do a WAN connection through WiFI with any of the newer NetBSD routers from CradlePoint (CTR35, MBR95, CBR400, MBR1400, etc)

I haven't had them for very long, but so far a great replacement to what we were using. What a device more features than I need, but would rather have more than not enough. We are using these on towboats using ATT USB modems, but with the ability to use any carrier and any style of card makes this a great device.

I've had this set up for about a month now. It was easy to set up and configure and has been reliable since then. I have a PC5750 card and it works better now than with my old Linksys 3G router.

I bought the mbr1200 to have the external antenna connections but the range is great without the external antenna (app 100 yards thru walls trees etc)
as far as hooking it up the only problem was dyslexia reading the password, as soon as I correctly typed in the password everything went smoothly

I have attempted to use this router over the course of 8 months with no success. I have gotten a new router from CradlePoint and it exhibits the same poor performance as the original. It often will not give out a DHCP address without rebooting the device. It often locks up and prevents Internet connectivity despite saying it is connected to the Internet. DON"T BUY THIS ROUTER, it is junk and expensive.
3Gstore Comments: Hello, I don't see any attempts to call 3Gstore's tech support department, you might want to give us a call to see if we can help you configure your router correctly
