This router uses Cradlepoint's legacy platform; their newer routers (the MBR1400, MBR95, CTR35, CBR400, CBR450) use the NetBSD platform. The NetBSD platform is easier to use, was created with 4G LTE/WiMAX in mind, and features improvements in modem reliability. The legacy routers will continue to be supported/updated for another year, but for long-term support you may want to consider one of the BSD routers. If you plan to use this router with a 4G WiMAX or LTE modem, we strongly advise using a USB extension cable to reduce interference and improve performance. 3Gstore carries a 9'10" USB extension and a 3'4" USB extension for this purpose.
