Purchased to replace a Cradlepoint MBR-900, I found that WifiRanger Pro maintains a better connection on the internal network while transferring large amounts of data. I am disappointed in the lack of security features when compared to other routers. Data logging is for factory service use only with no way for the end user to review the logs. There is no MAC address filtering. While it can remain uncongigured, the guest network is still visible to other wifi devices as "Other Network" and cannot be completely disabled.

It is too early to give an opinion. The initial firmware GR5 was buggy and I got the updated GR6, but I am still evaluating the device. It is very sensitive to relatively moderate RF fields beyond two full wavelengths. I tried it at 20 feet and the desensitization issues of the receiver preamp seemed to be minimized. I want to rate it 6 stars after reading the marketing materials, but I must wait until all of my tests are completed.
I need this for mission essential applications requiring CAT5 as well as cell data modem and Wifi connectivity with the fail over feature. The DHCP portion of the router is a plus and seems to somehow bypass the typical problem of double NAT which occurs frequently with LAN as WAN Wireless Access Points. I will report back after the tests are concluded.

We were up and running within minutes of opening the box. Speaking of the box, our order was on it's way the same day we ordered it. Great service THANKS

I purchased this for use in a motorhome. The admin interface is certainly designed for people who have little or no networking experience. A little bit more documentation would be nice.
I have experienced a couple of glitches. It will sometimes not connect to a WPA protected access point on the first couple of tries. It gives a "BAD KEY" response. Usually after the second or third attempt it will connect. The other glitch is it will sometimes connect but does not route. A re-connect is required.
So far this unit has been just the right tool for use in a motorhome. I use a Virgin Mobile MC760 with an external antenna along with a Ubiquiti Bullet mounted on the roof. This combination gives me an internet connection just about anywhere.
The only thing about this unit that makes me a "what were they thinking" moment is power. This is marketed as a mobile installed unit but the only power option the sell is a hokey usb cord with a cigarette lighter plug. A permanent mount option is not offered. I chose to get a DC/DC converter for 5v @ 3A with a size M (2.1mm) plug. The unit is hardwired with a 3A fuse for a proper mobile install.
Overall I strongly recommend this for an RV install. The router is smart enough to handle routing through various ip addressing schemes and will reconfigure on the fly. VERY important when connecting to multiple access points.

Works great out of the box. No confusing set up proceedures like the Cradle point 500.

finally working after nearly a month of trying, although not nearly as well as advertised. I bought this with a Boost Kit which I still don't have working.
Bought this for use as a fixed WiFi extended in an RV park where I have a seasonal place. Certainly would have been cheaper and easier to get on my golf cart with my laptop and drive closer to the WiFi signal for service. On my recommend list to avoid.
3Gstore Comments:
Brian, have you updated to the latest firmware? the previous version unfortunately did have some problems with the WFRBoost. give us a call at 866-347-8673, ext 3, and we'll be happy to help.

I recently moved to a rural area. I am not able to get high speed internet in my new location. There is only dial up and satellite internet available, until I saw on the 3G store's link that I am able to use a Data Card or in my case a Verizon 3G hot spot. My main concern was still being able to game online with games like Call of Duty. As you can see on 3G Stores website, that is a real viable option. I then decided to purchase the WiFi Ranger Pro. All I can say is that it works great. I have y CPU, PS3, and Wii connected to it and it works seamlessly. It was easy to set up and I have had no real issues due to the router. My issue is that I am in a 3G coverage area and not 4G, so there is a slight lag, but I can work with it and it is not an issue due to the WiFi Ranger.
My only concern is that I do not know how to change my NAT type to Open for my PS3. When using Cable internet, I was able to configure my router in the past, but I have not been able to find an option thru the WiFi Ranger log in page. Any ideas would be appreciated.

So far I've found this to be a great product. There seem to be fewer configuration options than I would expect, and the documentation seems a little thin (perhaps a function of the limited configuration options). I'm still getting to know this product so perhaps there's more to be found under the covers. We haven't had the opportunity to take it on the road yet (RV) but in my tests here at the house it performs well.
