CBR450 Details:
The CradlePoint CBR450 is a highly-featured router designed for kiosk or other
M2M applications that require local access through ethernet rather than Wi-Fi.
The router supports internet access via 3G/4G mobile broadband networks as
well as traditional wired networks such as DSL or Cable.
With its compact size, the CBR450 is ideal for use in small enclosures (ATM,
kiosk, vehicle). With failover/failback capability, the CBR450 supports
multiple combinations of wired or wireless internet. The router increases
internet availability and business continuity by detecting network failures and
automatically switching over to the other network(s).
The CBR450 provides secure and reliable VPN functionality, allowing users
to create, manage and terminate an IPSec VPN session. It allows for secure
access to central data centers from distributed locations.
Wireless Internet Access:
Supports multiple combinations of Internet access, including 3G/4G
wireless broadband as well as wired access (DSL/Cable)
Supports most wireless data modems from the leading carriers (modem
and service sold separately)
Device Connectivity:
Ethernet LAN/WAN port for non-WiFi devices or landline internet
WiFi not included to facilitate PCI and HIPPA Compliance
Security:
SPI Firewall and NAT (Network Address Translation) to prevent unwanted
access to connected computers
Variety of security features (URL filtering, traffic filtering, DMZ, virtual
server, port forwarding) for safer internet access.
Reliability:
Modem Health Management (MHM) monitors connectivity of 3rd-party
USB modems. MHM provides tiers of recovery mechanisms, starting with
software resets and escalating to hardware reset and full power cycle of
modem as necessary.
Flexibility:
Supports pass-through VPN connections (IPSec, L2TP, PPTP) to enable
laptops with a VPN client to connect through the router to corporate
networks.
Ethernet port can be configured to “WAN Mode” to create a WiFi hotspot
from a wired internet connection
Network Failover support . When a wired internet source (DSL, Cable
Modem) is connected to the ethernet port, the CBR450 will automatically
detect an internet outage and switch to the wireless 3G/4G internet.
Key features:
Non-WiFi version facilitates applications that require PCI and HIPAA compliance, offering a solution to customers needing additional security or situations where WiFi is prohibited
One Ethernet LAN port for the attached device
Operation in either router or bridge mode
“Bridge mode” in which the CBR450 can “pass through” the IP address provided by the 4G/3G wireless network directly to the attached device.
Built-in VPN termination allows secure connectivity to private corporate networks
“Router mode” which provides traditional networking functionality such as DHCP or statically-assigned IP address
