The yagi antenna REQUIRES line of sight to the tower (it will not work if you don't know where the tower is or if there are obstructions between you and the tower). The panel antenna is also a directional antenna and must be aimed towards the tower, but it does NOT require line of sight. If you are not sure where the cell tower is, you should choose one of the omnidirectional antennas (however, using an omnidirectional antenna will require more separation between your exterior and interior antennas, so make sure you purchase enough cabling and plan your installation accordingly).
Select External Antenna (required) - details
This cable will go between your outside antenna and the amplifier. Make sure you buy enough cable to accommodate your installation, keeping in mind the separation requirements for this amplifier!
Select Cable from Outside Antenna to Amp (required) - details
Select an inside antenna to rebroadcast the boosted signal. The DOME antenna mounts to a ceiling and provides an "omni" type of coverage area. The PANEL antenna can either be mounted on a ceiling facing downward (like the dome antenna) or on a wall facing outward (to direct signal in a certain direction). The panel antenna typically covers more area than the dome and is usually the better choice.
Select Inside Antenna (required) - details
This cable will go between the amplifier and your inside antenna. Make sure you buy enough cable to accommodate your installation, keeping in mind the separation requirements for this amplifier!
Select Cable from Amp to Inside Antenna (required) - details
A surge protector goes in between your outside antenna and the amplifier and protects your amplifier if lightning strikes your antenna. It's not required but is recommended for users in areas where lightning strikes frequently.

Do a site survey before buying this amplifier! If you're purchasing this to use in just one location, we strongly recommend doing a site survey first to determine whether the amplifier will help your signal and performance and to give you an idea of what kind of results you can expect from it. Start here: Will an Antenna/Amplifier Help Me?

If your signal is extremely poor (-108db or worse), an amplifier may not help you. There must be some usable signal available for the amplifier to boost for it to be effective.

The Wilson Electronics SOHO Wireless Dual-Band Amplifier has been carefully engineered to enhance the performance of your cell phone or cellular data card in small office/home office applications. Its advanced technology is designed to significantly improve voice and data signal quality and reduce disconnects and drop-outs.

How it works: The outside antenna (sold separately) picks up the cellular signal and sends it through a cable (sold separately) to the amplifier. The signal is then boosted and sent through a cable (sold separately) to the inside antenna (sold separately), which rebroadcasts the boosted signal. All of your modems/phones within range of the inside antenna can benefit from the boosted signal wirelessly.

*Many factors will influence the actual coverage area you will see from a repeater, including layout/floorplan, construction, and original un-amplified signal strength. Depending on your situation, you may see more or less coverage than the estimates listed here. It is not possible to guarantee coverage area.

Installation diagram:

Installation notes:

  • In order for your system to function properly, you must maintain adequate separation between the outside and inside antennas (if the antennas are too close together, there will be oscillation/feedback between the antennas and the amplifier will shut down). This amplifier requires approximately 50' of separation between the outside and inside antennas (if you are using an omnidirectional antenna as the outside antenna, you will need more separation than directional antenna users will need). Separation can be horizontal or vertical.
  • If you cannot achieve adequate separation to eliminate oscillation, you can turn down the gain on the amplifier, but that will result in a smaller coverage area from the amplifier.
  • The interior antenna should be at least 10' away from the amplifier.
  • If you are using a panel antenna as the interior antenna, make sure it is aimed AWAY from the outside antenna.
  • For more details, you can download the installation manual (PDF)

Features:

  • Adjustable Gain
  • Greatly reduces dropped calls, extends signal range, and increases data rates
  • No physical connection to your cell phone or data card
  • Allows multiple phones and cellular data cards to be used simultaneously
  • Oscillation (or interference) detection and automatic shutdown with auto reset
  • Overload protection circuit – protects cell towers from being overloaded
  • Amplifies signals both to and from the cell tower
  • Maximum 1500 milliwatts output power - As much as 15 times more powerful than a typical cell phone
  • Power control logic ensures maximum gain is within cellular standards
  • Extends battery life – Booster enables phone to work at reduced power
  • AC power supply included
  • FCC and IC type accepted
  • The number of phones that can operate simultaneously on a wireless system depends on the outside signal strength. The stronger the outside signal is, the more phones an amplifier can support. Conversely, the weaker the outside signal is, the fewer phones an amplifier can support. Technical Support has never received a report of a system supporting too few phones.
