The Yagi antenna requires line of sight to the tower. The panel antenna is also a directional antenna, but does NOT require line of sight. If you are not sure where the cell tower is OR if you are not sure if you have direct line of sight, you should choose the panel antenna. An omnidirectional antenna cannot be used with his amplifier.

Fast Facts About This Product:
- This amplifier is best for: T-Mobile 3G or MetroPCS 3G users looking for a powerful wireless amplifier to provide boosted signal to multiple devices in a large home/office and have the space to accommodate significant separation between the antennas (50' of separation between the external and internal antennas is recommended).
- All-in-One Kit? NO - antennas and cabling are required (sold separately)
- Range*: 8/10 (variable depending upon which exterior and interior antennas are used)
- Compatibility: 1700/2100 AWS bands ONLY (in the USA, T-Mobile and Metro PCS 3G use these frequencies)
Do a site survey before buying this product! Before buying any signal boosting equipment for a fixed location (i.e. non-mobile applications), we strongly recommend doing a site survey first to determine whether an antenna/amplifier will help your signal and performance. This simple testing will help you determine what you need and save you the money and hassle of buying the wrong equipment! Start here: Will an Antenna/Amplifier Help Me?
The new ‘AWS 70’ from Wilson Electronics is an indoor signal booster that provides consumers a strong signal and larger coverage area for devices operating on the Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) 1700/2100 MHz band. This device features adjustable gain controls - one for the uplink (device-to-tower), and another for the downlink (tower-to-device) - allowing the installer, to optimize the unit’s gain to match the requirements of the building in which it is deployed. The adjustable gain feature also simplifies installation by making antenna placement less critical. This amp is ONLY appropriate if you are ONLY needing to boost signal to T-Mobile or MetroPCS 3G devices (it will not affect any other signal!)
Delivering gain up to 70 dB, the ‘AWS 70’ is the most powerful consumer AWS booster available, with an indoor coverage area more than double the size of that of any competing booster. This makes it ideal for multi-story buildings. This device supports multiple simultaneous connections. Wilson signal boosters feature cell site protection technologies developed over more than a decade of research and development. These protections, many of which are not provided by competing boosters, give peace of mind to installers and customers who don’t have to worry about this booster causing cell site interference.
The outside antenna (sold separately) will collect the outside signal and send it through a cable to the amplifier. The signal is then boosted and sent through a cable to the inside antenna (sold separately), which communicates with your cell phone or data card. When the cell phone or data card transmits, the inside antenna picks up the signal and sends it to the amplifier where it is boosted and sent through the outside antenna to the cell site.
* "Range" refers to the relative size of the area to which the repeater can provide boosted signal (1/10 is worst, 10/10 is best). Because of the many factors that can influence the range of a repeater system, we cannot guarantee specific ranges; the rating listed here is for comparative use only.
