Bought this to be used with my Verizon USB laptop modem. I went to a friend's house that only usually gets one-two bars. This antenna did not raise the bars. However, it DID increase the download speed from a steady 350kbps to 800kbps +. The Verizon software has a real time download speed monitor and it was obvious of the increase in speed when I plugged it in. Tried several times and kept getting the same excellent result!
