The yagi antenna REQUIRES line of sight to the tower (it will not work if you don't know where the tower is or if there are obstructions between you and the tower). The panel antenna is also a directional antenna and must be aimed towards the tower, but it does NOT require line of sight. If you are not sure where the cell tower is, you should choose one of the omnidirectional antennas.

Select an inside antenna to rebroadcast the boosted signal. The DOME antenna mounts to a ceiling and provides an "omni" type of coverage area. The PANEL antenna can either be mounted on a ceiling facing downward (like the dome antenna) or on a wall facing outward (to direct signal in a certain direction). The panel antenna typically covers more area than the dome and is usually the better choice.

If your signal is extremely poor (-108db or worse), an amplifier may not help you. There must be some usable signal available for the amplifier to boost for it to be effective.

The CM2000-WL 55/60dB provides completely wireless boosting of signals for multiple users simultaneously. It supports all cellphone handsets and service providers in the 800/1900mhz frequency bands, and is perfect for use in office enterprises, large vehicles (ships, trains, buses, RVs), or homes with multiple users. A sophisticated Protection circuit prevents damage to the amplifier due to interference or improper installation. With a Cellphone-Mate Amplifier doing all the long-range work, the battery on your cellphone drains slower, thereby increasing talk time. The 6V design runs safer, cooler and more efficient. Finally, with proper use of the CM2000-WL, dangerous hot spots are removed a safe distance from the user's body.

How it works: The outside antenna (sold separately) picks up the cellular signal and sends it through a cable (sold separately) to the amplifier. The signal is then boosted and sent through a cable (sold separately) to the inside antenna (sold separately), which rebroadcasts the boosted signal. All of your modems/phones within range of the inside antenna can benefit from the boosted signal wirelessly.

*Many factors will influence the actual coverage area you will see from a repeater, including layout/floorplan, construction, and original un-amplified signal strength. Depending on your situation, you may see more or less coverage than the estimates listed here. It is not possible to guarantee coverage area.

Installation notes:

  • In order for your system to function properly, you must maintain adequate separation between the outside and inside antennas (if the antennas are too close together, there will be oscillation/feedback between the antennas and the amplifier will shut down). This amplifier requires approximately 20' of separation between the outside and inside antennas. Separation can be horizontal or vertical.
  • The interior antenna should be at least 10' away from the amplifier.
  • If you are using a panel antenna as the interior antenna, make sure it is aimed AWAY from the outside antenna.

In a word: WONDERFUL! I had been using the Wilson Sleek and window mount accessory also from 3gstore with great success but got tired of being tied down with 3 wires to one room. I chose this kit for the promised 4g capable antennas. The whole kit seems very well made and Bob (retired electrical engineer from Northrop Grumman) remarked the cable connectors are mil-spec and used on radar systems. The outside antenna is mounted on a heavy ~3/8" aluminum plate and sealed from the weather. Over all, every component seems heavy duty and built to last. We mounted ours using a Radio Shack building side mount with two ten foot mast segments giving us 14 feet above the roof peak and ran the cable through the attic vent. This is a big investment so be sure an amplifier will help you. This gives us full in house coverage (100 feet long) and even in the back yard where the house was blocking the weak signal. I don't need the Wilson Sleek in the house any more and it is now in the car where it belongs. Be sure the cable lengths will work for you, we could have used a longer outside cable. I'm sure sales can modify the kit. The device does get warm so we mounted ours on an attic joist above the garage where the outside cable ran out using stand-offs over the pull down stairway where cooler air is pulled through the garage by the venting attic. I would have felt better if the amp was mounted in conditioned air but that has problems with the ceiling antenna. We'll have to wait and see if heat is a problem. I almost held out for a 4G amplifier but who knows when they will be ready and when I can stream HD movies directly to the TV from my phone with 3G, who needs it? I have to ask, cost slowed me but since we took the plunge, why did I wait so long!

Customer service was excellent with assisting choosing the right product for my requirements. Price was competitive. It did what it was suppose to do. The setup installation Instructions need to be better explained in the setup of the antennas and maybe 60 feet of cable instead of 40 feet.
