The yagi antenna REQUIRES line of sight to the tower (it will not work if you don't know where the tower is or if there are obstructions between you and the tower). The panel antenna is also a directional antenna and must be aimed towards the tower, but it does NOT require line of sight. If you are not sure where the cell tower is, you should choose one of the omnidirectional antennas (however, using an omnidirectional antenna will require more separation between your exterior and interior antennas, so make sure you purchase enough cabling and plan your installation accordingly).
Select External Antenna (required) - details
This cable will go between your outside antenna and the amplifier. Make sure you buy enough cable to accommodate your installation, keeping in mind the separation requirements for this amplifier!
Select Cable from Outside Antenna to Amp (required) - details
Select an inside antenna to rebroadcast the boosted signal. The DOME antenna mounts to a ceiling and provides an "omni" type of coverage area. The PANEL antenna can either be mounted on a ceiling facing downward (like the dome antenna) or on a wall facing outward (to direct signal in a certain direction). The panel antenna typically covers more area than the dome and is usually the better choice.
Select Inside Antenna (required) - details
This cable will go between the amplifier and your inside antenna. Make sure you buy enough cable to accommodate your installation, keeping in mind the separation requirements for this amplifier!
Select Cable from Amp to Inside Antenna (required) - details
A surge protector goes in between your outside antenna and the amplifier and protects your amplifier if lightning strikes your antenna. It's not required but is recommended for users in areas where lightning strikes frequently.
Add Lightning Protection (optional) - details

Fast Facts About This Product:

Do a site survey before buying this amplifier! If you're purchasing this to use in just one location, we strongly recommend doing a site survey first to determine whether the amplifier will help your signal and performance and to give you an idea of what kind of results you can expect from it. Start here: Will an Antenna/Amplifier Help Me?

If your signal is extremely poor (-108db or worse), an amplifier may not help you. There must be some usable signal available for the amplifier to boost for it to be effective.

The Flex 65 cellular booster with adjustable dials allows you to optimize cellular coverage in your home or in your office where reception is weak due to topography, building materials or structural design. Part of Cellphone-Mate’s Enhance line of personal consumer and SOHO boosters, its compartmentalized design ensures enhanced call clarity for multiple users.

How it works: The outside antenna (sold separately) picks up the cellular signal and sends it through a cable (sold separately) to the amplifier. The signal is then boosted and sent through a cable (sold separately) to the inside antenna (sold separately), which rebroadcasts the boosted signal. All of your modems/phones within range of the inside antenna can benefit from the boosted signal wirelessly.

*Many factors will influence the actual coverage area you will see from a repeater, including layout/floorplan, construction, and original un-amplified signal strength. Depending on your situation, you may see more or less coverage than the estimates listed here. It is not possible to guarantee coverage area.

Installation diagram:

Installation notes:

  • In order for your system to function properly, you must maintain adequate separation between the outside and inside antennas (if the antennas are too close together, there will be oscillation/feedback between the antennas and the amplifier will shut down). This amplifier requires approximately 50' of separation between the outside and inside antennas (if you are using an omnidirectional antenna as the outside antenna, you will need more separation than directional antenna users will need). Separation can be horizontal or vertical.
  • If you cannot achieve adequate separation to eliminate oscillation, you can turn down the gain on the amplifier, but that will result in a smaller coverage area from the amplifier.
  • The interior antenna should be at least 10' away from the amplifier.
  • If you are using a panel antenna as the interior antenna, make sure it is aimed AWAY from the outside antenna.
  • For more details, you can download the installation manual (PDF)

This unit does very well for cellular phone reception. I would say about 30% of my house now has complete phone coverage. That being said there is NO noticable difference in data bandwith gain or latency like I was hoping for my Sprint OverDrive Pro - it is actually worse. If you have Sprint 3G coverage do not expect the amplifier kit to boost anything for this device. If I would have known this I would not have bought the 500 dollar kit. Unfortunately 3G Store has the OverDrive Pro listed as a compatible device that will boost the signal: "Repeaters for Overdrive Pro Show All3G Only4G Only - A repeater is similar to an amplifier, but instead of only boosting the signal for your Overdrive Pro, it works wirelessly to boost the signal to multiple cellular devices. "

3Gstore Comments:
This product DOES work for Sprint 3G - but it does not work for 4G WiMAX (this is stated in the specs). Perhaps you have the two mixed up? Feel free to contact our tech support for additional help!

Works great! My son says the only thing bad about it is that "it works so good his phone can not decide to go through his cell connection or WiFi!" LOL!

If you have any experience installing cable, phones, or security systems then this will be a breeze... Plan on getting a better quality anchor for mounting on drywall/sheetrock... The anchors are the worst I've ever seen for a drywall anchor... The mounting for the outside antennae is a flat mount and small... It is not made to be mounted to a round object like a pole.. I did however use 2 stainless hose clamps to secure it good enough... Figuring a way to find something to go from round to flat is next to impossible so this was the only solution I was able to come up with.... Other than that the rest is quite opposite... High quality products all the way through... Instructions on the hooking up and operating is quite simple.. Great signal boosting operation...Thumbs down on mounting options and hardware but thumbs up on the rest...

Powerful amp (noticeably more powerful than the previous Wilson amp offered for this level). And if that is too much power for your situation, then it can be dialed down to as small an application as a truck or automobile cell-phone amp. LEDs on the face let you know if you don't have enough separation between the external and internal antennas. Placing the interior antenna on one side of the house still permitted good cell and data signal on the opposite end of the house. I bought this with the full kit, which included the higher-quality cables than I've used in the past, and the external antenna came with all the hardware I needed to mount it on my own mast. I highly recommend this.

I'm sharing my experience because of the unique nature of our house. Our house is an earth sheltered house, where the shell of the house is 12 inch thick concrete walls built into the side of a hill, with 2 feet of earth covering the roof. We get a strong signal outside, but inside we get no signal at all. I ordered the antenna/repeater kit and tested it out in various places once it got here. I'm happy to report that now we get a string signal inside the house, 4-5 bars in most places. This really works.

I had an indoor cell signal from 1 to 2 bars before installing this system, after the install I now have a 4 to 5 bar signal with no dropped calls. This has allowed me to cancel my Verizon land line at $60.00 a month and install the Verizon Home Connect service which allows me to keep my home number but uses Verizon Wireless as a carrier @ $24.00 a month with all of the same home phone services & features. These savings will pay for the cell booster system in less than a year.

I don't usually write reviews but felt this one very worthy. This was extremely easy to install with the additional components we purchased. We have 4800SF metal building and had NO cell reception inside for 5 years. Wish I would have known about this sooner. As soon as it was hooked up we all had full bars, no matter where we were inside the building. The owner made a comment yesterday that he actually walks inside the building to make cell calls now because he has better reception inside than standing outside. Great customer service at 3G.

I purchased the entire kit for my house that is very rural. I was lucky to be receiving 1-2 bars on my AT&T phone (still only 2G where I live) and this boosted my signal to 4-5 bars (still only 2G....but this is an AT&T thing more than anything). I also have a Verizon MiFi that was getting about 2 bars of 3G and this amplifier system boosted the MiFi to a solid 5 bars on 3G.....this will save me from having to spend the $$ on satellite internet. Of course 3G data is a step up from dial-up, but I'll take it with this booster over having nothing at all. I thought I was going to have to switch cell phone service since AT&T isnt all that wonderful at my new house, but this boosts the signal enough to make it worth keeping it since Im not a fan of all the "share everything" plans....Im grandfathered into a cheaper phone plan and Im happy I can now keep it!
