The Single Outlet IP Switch is designed to automatically check if the network connection is online. Should the internet connection go down, the outlet is designed to automatically power-cycle. Users can also remotely turn on/off/reset the outlet via the Android/iOS App or the User Interface (web browser) or schedule timed on/off/resets*.

Uses for the 3Gstore Single Outlet IP Switch:

  • Home users who have to manually power-cycle their router to re-gain internet connectivity
  • IT Professionals who need to automatically or remotely reset devices
  • Preventing your connection from timing out or going dormant
  • Create an automatic power schedule (ex: turn on at 9am & turn off at 5pm)

*The iPhone/Android application is required to update the firmware on the IP Switch. All other controls can be accessed either via the app or the web interface.

NOTE: the single-oulet switch cannot be configured for custom external or internal ping targets. If this is a feature that your application requires, please see the Dual Outlet IP Switch, which allows changes to be made to both external and internal IP addresses.

The primary feature of the unit is very simple: it monitors an internet connection and power-cycles the connected devices if the internet connection goes down. This simple feature alone can be very useful if your mobile broadband or cable/DSL connection drops, and all you need to do is reset the router to re-gain connectivity - this will automatically reset the router for you, without anyone having to visit the location and manually cycle power.

Easy to install. The 3 LEDs make it very easy to setup. The Android app makes this a winner.

Saves service calls to clients with bad ISPs and modems that need resetting.
Very easy to setup. Just make sure you disable "Power Off" in the configuration when using it to control a internet modem. If you accidentally power it down you WILL have to drive back ;-)

Can also be used for many other purposes.

For me its a staple in my stock off network equipment.

Questions & Answers

I need a manually-controlled (web access) switch for remote power control. This looks like it. How can I be sure that using it on on a public IP will be secure?
I had the device powering a temperamental DSL modem. The modem hung. I pushed the app button to turn off the modem. Now it will not power on with the app. Any ideas?
How can I link/connect multiple "Single Outlet Remote Power Switches" from a single ethernet wall outlet?
If I don't want to use the "Automatic Reboot" function of this device, can I disable this function so that I can just use this device to turn an aquarium light on or off via a mobile app over the web while away from home?
I simply need a switch that will allow me to reboot any device plugged into it by assigning the switch a private static IP which I can access privately without going through the Internet. Does this switch have that functionality?
Can I use this using 12volt power?
Can I send an http request (get or post) to the switch's web interface to turn on/off the device connected to the outlet? Example of the specific request would be helpful.
Not shown anywhere is the Settings screen where one sets the address that this device will check to verify Internet connectivity. Explain please: does this have to be an URL (which needs a DNS to be resolved) or a simple xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx IP address?
I'm having an issue with the mobile application. Is it OK to uninstall the app and re-install it if I am NOT at the same location as the Switch?
If I have (at a remote cabin) Internet connectivity, can I send, over the Internet, a command to the single outlet unit and have it turn off then on the router its connected to?
Where can I find information on how the web browser functions work?
How long does the switch wait after a reboot before it starts pinging again?
Can you turn off the automatic reboot if internet connection drops and just use this for remote rebooting of a device?
After a complete power loss, does the unit default to on or off?

How frequently does the switch ping to confirm the internet connection?
If I purchase Remote Power Switch - 1 Outlet, can I put the APP on several cellphones to control only one unit?
Does this product come with a warranty, if so can you supply the details?
Can you remotely access the switch using an iPad/iPhone?
What sites does it ping? Does it use ICMP or HTTP requests?
Does the single outlet IP switch have a physical option for turning on power to an outlet (such as the switches on the two outlet model) or can power only be turned on through software?
Can I control the outlet from a remote host with a script (e.g. telnet, http request)?
How many outlets can you control with a single App?
How is this different than the two-outlet model? Please be specific.
Would like to see screen shots of the menus. Are these menus the same as or similar to the 2 outlet version?
