If your signal is extremely poor (-108db or worse), an amplifier may not help you. There must be some usable signal available for the amplifier to boost for it to be effective.

Designed for use in your car, truck, RV, or boat, this booster significantly improves your cell phone's performance and signal strength. It supports multiple cell phones and data cards simultaneously. You'll experience fewer dropped calls, faster data rates, and clearer reception.

How it works: The outside antenna (sold separately) picks up the cellular signal and sends it to the amplifier. The signal is then boosted and sent out through the low-profile interior antenna, which rebroadcasts the boosted signal. All of your modems/phones within range of the inside antenna can benefit from the boosted signal wirelessly.

*Many factors will influence the actual coverage area you will see from a repeater, including layout/floorplan, construction, and original un-amplified signal strength. Depending on your situation, you may see more or less coverage than the estimates listed here. It is not possible to guarantee coverage area.

Installation notes:

  • In order for your system to function properly, you must maintain adequate separation between the outside and inside antennas (if the antennas are too close together, there will be oscillation/feedback between the antennas and the amplifier will shut down). This amplifier requires approximately 5' of separation between the outside and inside antennas. Separation can be horizontal or vertical.
  • The inside antenna should be mounted within a couple of feet of where boosted signal is needed. In a typical vehicle, the best place to mount the inside antenna is shoulder height on the side of the drivers seat. Remember, the closer your phone is to the interior antenna, the better the performance.
  • Do not mount the interior antenna within 4" of metal.
  • You CANNOT use a traditional adapter cable that plugs directly into an antenna port on a phone/modem with this amplifier - doing so will damage your device! If you want a direct connect amplifier, purchase the 811201 Direct Connect Amplifier

Works great. I attached it to an external antenae and went from a -115 signal to a -75. Before I purchased this I often had no signal. No more- I always have a good signal.

So far very pleased with the results. Recently drove from Chicago to California on I-80 and experienced no dropped calls. I was also able to 3G stream music as well with equal results. My job requires ability to communicate on the road and from relatively remote locations. The Wilson products are performing nicely.
