MBR1000 Details:

Speed and Reliability
Complement your 3G or 4G ExpressCard or USB Cellular Modem (or tethered phone) with the MBR1000 to provide local WLAN coverage that virtually eliminates dead spots. Now you can connect, stream video, download music, and make Internet phone calls at home, at work, or on the road. The Cradlepoint MBR1000 Mobile Broadband Router uses the latest available 802.11 N technology to provide better WLAN speed and greater range than any other cellular router, while being backwards compatible with existing 802.11b/g computers and other clients, including computers, the iPod Touch, WiFi-enabled phones/PDAs, and gaming consoles.

Sharing on Your Terms
The MBR1000 also implements Cradlepoints firewall technology to ensure that your wireless network is not compromised, and sharing is allowed only when you want. The Cradlepoint firewall provides that extra level of protection even when you havent fully implemented a encryption policy. And, if you choose to establish network access without encryption, you can set your own rules and even remotely login users.

Reach Out Further
The MBR1000 uses MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) radio technology to create a wireless LAN with 2 to 6 times the radius of traditional 802.11b/g networks. Unlike ordinary WLAN radio technology that can be compromised by other in-band wireless signals and reflections, the MBR1000 actually uses these reflections to reduce dead spots and improve performance. With Wireless-N, youll have a bigger WLAN footprint and stronger signal than ever before.

Business ReadySecure and Simple
The MBR1000 ensures a secure connection through use of the latest 802.11 WiFi encryption. The MBR1000 supports WEP, WPA, and WPA2 standards to give your business the strongest possible encryption. In addition, the MBR1000 utilizes SPI and NAT to prevent potential attacks from across the Internet. For serious business applications, multi-client, simultaneous VPN pass-through is supported to give you nonstop access to your corporate network. The built-in Setup Wizard simplifies the configuration process by giving you good/better/best security options to give you both network security and device compatibility.

Great Backup Solution for your Network
The MBR1000 gives you the added flexibility to let you use a cellular data modem as an emergency backup Internet access method when DSL, Cable or office broadband goes down. Sleep a little easier knowing that you have a backup solution in place to insure your business is always connected.

The perfect 3G/4G router for home and office use

The sleek, shiny and very black MBR1000 targets the more 'stationary' crowd rather that those folks who are always moving around. The MBR1000 is a larger unit at 7"x 4.8"x 1.2" and its size allows for more hardware features than its predecessors.

This complement of hardware features clearly targets an audience that includes businesses, SOHO, and homeowners -- but it will also be a favorite of roadwarriors like full-time RVers, who are turning to EVDO in droves as more and more EVDO coverage finds its way into areas once covered only by dialup or satellite...

Was VERY easy to set up wirelessly and the included setup provided by 3Gstore made it even easier. We got this so both my wife and I could my wireless card. We travel in our RV and the usual campground internet access, if available, was usually poor, making it difficult for my wife to get online at the same time as I was online since we only had the one card. This router was perfect for our needs. We also purchased an external antenna for our wireless card which improved our connectivity. This router is perfect for us and works very well. No problems, maintains connection.

This router worked great the first day but after that could not connect via the usb modem. The modem is 3g/4g compatible but the router keeps trying to connect in 4g which the area i live only has 3g coverage. Tried to modify the settings but would not save. Hoping a future firmware patch fixes the problem.

This 3G router has been working pretty good, set-up was incredibly easy for both mine and my boyfriends computers. Works well right out of the box, I am outside of the 3G service area with the data card, but still have a good enough connection to play Netflix movies on the tv hooked to the router without waiting for a load halfway through the movie. I have had to reset it a couple times however to get WiFi back working. Definitely would recommend this product to a friend!

This is my second MBR1000 and the second one works as well as the first, it is a great product and your tech support is great, thank you.

Recieved this router in ultra-fast time. I ordered it on a monday holiday (4th of July), it was shipped the next day and recieved on Thursday _today_ THAT is service. And the router works perfectly. Took just a few minutes to set up, added my modem card and the external attenna for the card which I purchased here also, and it is working perfect and I dont need to rely on the RV parks usual poor wifi network. My wife and I can access the internet perfectly and with fair speed considering we are using a 3G card. Eventually we will upgrade to a 4G card but not until the area availablity is greater. All in all, this router works perfect for what we needed and setup was a breeze. However, I must admit that as I was for many years a network tech, I have knowledge the avg user might not have. But even saying that, this was an easy router to setup.

The router has been great since I purchased it in 2008, now I have learned that Cradlepoint and 3G Store will no longer support this product with Motorola Droid Smart Phones. Big Mistake.

3Gstore Comments:
Glad that it has been working great for you for the last 3 years.

Not sure why you are mad at 3Gstore, as we don't determine what devices work or don't work, that would be CradlePoint. Also, the MBR1000 is still supported, however, that may change in 2012.

On a side note, even if CradlePoint isn't supporting newer phones, if the phone has a hotspot feature, there is a way to get it to work with your MBR1000 (or any other router). Just add a Pepwave Surf Mini, have it connect to the hotspot feature of your smartphone and then plug the Surf Mini in the WAN port of the MBR1000. Problem solved.

This router works well with my AT&T USB modem. The software support from 3G Store is excellent. I was able to get my laptop, printer, and even my Playstation 3 working with it without a call to technical support. I live in a rural area, and this is my only source for internet at home. It works well, and I'm very pleased.

Worked great. Firmware was up to date. I have another one purchased last year that influenced this purchase. I use it with the novatel usb760 with verizon. Easy setup using the browser interface.

Overall it works fine with my Verizon UML290 modem, except for when there is no activity for over 15 minutes or so (computers are not being used, either in sleep mode or powered off), the router can't wake up the modem without unplugging the router and plugging it in again. 3G tech support was very friendly and helpful but none of their suggestions (pinging the modem, changing various settings) have solved the problem. But this may be a problem with the Verizon modem rather than the router. I found it was easy to install, very helpful instruction CD, and tech support was very good.

I have used several other routers, including ones made for sharing 3G connections. The CradlePoint MBR1000 works much better than the others I have used. Specifically, on other routers, when the cellular signal faltered or briefly disconnected, the router would go through a long process of rebooting and reconnecting. This resulted in terrible internet connectivity for my network. The Cradlepoint MBR1000, on the other hand, seems to not lose the connection, or if it does, it reconnects very quickly, and there is essentially no down time for users of the internet on the network. This happens even without the failover system becoming operative. I highly recommend this, as well as the 3G store's great customer support.
