Tekkeon Tech support has advised that this new unit will not fully charge without a 1Amp USB charger ( standard computer USB ports only supply 1/2 an amp on average ) whereas the older MP1800 could be charged with a 1/2 or 1 Amp USB charger. Also, unit has to be turned 'off' for it to charge, which is different that the older MP1800 which had to be turned 'on' to charge. Other than that, works great.
