For use as a standalone antenna for a 3G or 4G modem, we recommend the 304452 model , which includes suction cups so that it can be mounted in a window facing the cell tower. This antenna is intended to be mounted INDOORS - it is not weather-proofed for outdoor use. When setting up your repeater, make sure that the 301135 panel antenna is pointed AWAY from the exterior antenna to avoid oscillation. It can be mounted horizontally on a wall (if you want to aim the rebroadcasted signal towards a specific direction) or on a ceiling facing downward (if you prefer to mount it in the center of the area in which you need coverage). The antenna made the difference in being able to receive Verizon 4gLite vs. just 3g. I am using the very short coax on the antenna and it is placed along with the modem and Cradlepoint MBR95 router near a window for good reception. I suggest a searching the site with just the modem and a laptop prior to the installation to enable the bast location. HENRY H. 2012-04-25
