Add a SIM if you don't already have one (you will need to call Verizon to get it activated)

This router features an embedded modem and you will need a SIM card with active service from Verizon to use it. The AER has a standard 2FF SIM slot - if you plan to use a micro or nano SIM, you'll need a SIM adapter.

The Cradlepoint AER3100 features dual modems for wireless-to-wireless failover or augmented bandwidth to optimize support for high-performance applications—like employee/guest WiFi, digital signage, point-of-sale systems, and surveillance—to meet the growing needs of small and micro branch networks. Cradlepoint’s AER portfolio is the only line of 4G LTE network solutions to offer dual-modem multi-carrier support, Unified Threat Management (UTM) capabilities, and the industry’s most robust cellular WAN management application platform, Enterprise Cloud Manager.

Fast Facts About This Product:

  • This router is best for: The AER 3100 is ideal for business and enterprise applications where the need for "always on" connectivity is a must; perfect for businesses who want an all-in-one solution, since the modem chip is built into the router's included modem component - no need for a separate aircard, just insert your activated SIM card right into the modem!
  • Internet Connections Supported: 2 MC400 embedded 3G/4G modules (1 x Verizon modem included; additional MC400s sold separately), 13 Wired WAN, 1 USB (view full compatibility chart), WiFi as WAN* (more info)
  • Networks Supported for Embedded Modem: The included modem is pre-configured for Verizon, but it supports all carriers using LTE Band 2 (1900 MHz), Band 4 AWS (1700/2100 MHz), Band 5 (850 MHz), Band 13 (700 MHz), Band 17 (700 MHz), Band 25 (1900 MHz); HSPA+/UMTS (850/900/1900/2100 MHz, AWS); GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz); CDMA EVDO Rev A/1xRTT (800/1900 MHz)
  • WiFi Standard: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz (concurrent)
  • WiFi Range: 350-400' through walls, much greater unobstructed (variable depending on interference from other electronics and physical interference such as walls and ceilings)
  • Ethernet ports: 13 configurable GbE LAN/WAN (by default, 1 is set to WAN and 12 are set to LAN)
  • Size: 12.2" x 10.6" x 1.75"

*Compatibility with all WiFi networks cannot be guaranteed. Networks requiring authentication on a "splash page" (e.g. Starbucks WiFi) in particular can be hit or miss.
